| A signal sent to Lt-Cdr W.N. Pickering, Commander of Landing
Ship Tank (LST) 365, advising him that D Day postponed by 24 hours (due
to the weather situation). LST 365 subsequently took part in the invasion
as part of Operation Neptune, landing on 'Sword' beach Ouistreham 6th June
1944. Subsequently, on 12th June, she also delivered Maj-Gen Lanton Collins
(Lightning Joe) and the US V11 Corps onto Omaha beach. |
