4372Air Ministry Salters No. 20T Trade Spring Scales - Click for the bigger pictureIn StockAir Ministry Salters No. 20T Trade Spring Scales - In a lifetime collecting RAF memorabilia, this is the first set of RAF issue scales we have ever seen. These are clearly marked on the brass dial with a crown, A.M. and 4A/NIV C22B and B122754/40, thus dating the instrument to 1940 and highly likely it served through the Battle of Britain. The dial is also engraved Silvesters Patent, Made in England, to weigh 150 lbs. On the back of the instrument is painted C Flight, although sadly no squadron details. We do not know the exact use for these scales but possibly for weighing kit bags and personal items prior to an overseas posting to calculate the aircraft's loading weights. We spoke to a specialist Salter's scale collector and he too confirmed the rarity of this item and suspect we will wait a long time to find another. It is heavy, so please check delivery costs with us before ordering. Dial diameter 15.5" (39cm)£245.00

4581DH60 Propeller Blade and Hub - Click for the bigger pictureIn StockDH60 Propeller Blade and Hub - The DH60 is the code for the De Havilland. The DH60 is otherwise known as the Gipsy Moth. The hub is stamped 80 hp and Cirrus and dated March 1926. The Cirrus engine was soon replaced after early production indicating this propeller is from an early example of the aircraft. One blade has been removed near the hub while the other, which is covered in the original green painted canvas, carries a signature which looks to be J. Bell, who we speculate could have been the pilot reponsible for the loss of the missing blade. A very decorative example from the early days of aviation, measures 45" (114cm)£240.00

4399RAF Panchromatic Film Container - Click for the bigger pictureIn StockRAF Panchromatic Film Container - Stores ref. no. 14B/2496 and clearly marked AM with King's Crown and Day High Speed. While we have not broken the seal, it appears the 24 feet of film is still contained within but we can no longer guarantee it is still suitable for its original purpose! Clearly dated 21.4.45, this is the first example we have had and would display nicely with other wartime RAF photographic equipment. Measures 7" (18cm)£20.00

3356Luftwaffe Aircraft Seat Frame - Click for the bigger pictureIn StockLuftwaffe Aircraft Seat Frame - This item is reported to have been recovered from Lubek in 1945 and brought back to the UK as a souvenir. It was then re-upholstered and used for many years by the owner's children in their playroom which was the condition in which we purchased it. When the cover was removed we found a paper label reading German Jet Komet Pilot's Seat Lubek 1945. We also discovered under the paint an original data plate which is somewhat faded but appears to be stamped RGS145 and below 27-H-1970 and 5783-14, although this is not entirely clear. The chair features four rubber pads carrying ink stamps which are difficult to decipher but could possibly idicate a flight school. The frame which appears to be aluminium alloy is finished in original black paint. If any visitors can give us a positive ID, we would be happy to add that to our description, but in the meantime it remains a mystery item but no doubt with a story to tell! Measures 15" wide by 16" deep and 20" high(38cm x 42cm x 53cm).£150.00

117RAF Aircraft Tail Wheel and Tyre - Click for the bigger pictureIn StockRAF Aircraft Tail Wheel and Tyre - Reputed to be ex-Spitfire but we can't find any identification codes on the hub to prove or disprove. The tyre, however, is clearly stamped with a King's Crown and AM, so definitely from a WWII period aircraft and judging by the size, would look to be from a fighter. The tyre has various other stamps on it including WJ14, Static Conducting, WT, 4908, LO204E 188 and the tyre size is detailed at 4.0-3.5. The tread area of the tyre is also stamped in yellow ink WJ14. It appears to be unused and is still inflated. Measures 10" (26cm) diameter. For sale as a collector's item or to fit on a static airframe display.£75.00

The propeller is larger than those we normally see with a diameter of 61cm (24"). It carries original stencilling to one blade, reading 247 and embossed on the hub with the letter E. An alluminium tray is used for weighing purposes and the scale is marked "British Make Surrey Flying Services Ltd." We have no idea on the date of manufacture, but these scales have the classic look of the 1930's. 4591RAF Squadron Leader's Pennant - Click for the bigger pictureSoldRAF Squadron Leader's Pennant - Accompanied by a sailing pennant marked RCYC Team RAF NSC Race 1949. We do not have any direct provenance with these items but have speculated the squadron leader was also a sailor and a member of the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club. We have yet to positively ID NSC, although could possibly be Northampton Sailing Club. The squadron leader pennant measures 31" x 22" (79cm x 56cm) and is in good flown condition. The sailing pennant has a couple of moth nips while the hand embroidery is very crisp. Seeing both came in from the same source, we assume they date from the 1940's. A Recent Sale
3740Small Aircraft Propeller - Click for the bigger pictureSoldSmall Aircraft Propeller - Manufactured in laminated timber with red painted tips and varnish finish. It has no identification marks on the hub so we have no idea what aircraft it was designed for but judging by its size, possibly a microlight or even a target drone. An attractive display example of a genuine propeller at an entry level price. Measures 44" (112cm)A Recent Sale
4804Luftwaffe Leuchtpistole Model M1928 in Relic Condition - Click for the bigger pictureSoldLuftwaffe Leuchtpistole Model M1928 in Relic Condition - Despite being recovered from a crash site and distorted by fire and impact damage, it is still recognisable as a flare pistol issued to Luftwaffe aircrew in WWII. While we don't have any information on the actual crash details, we were told it was recovered in the Hastings area of East Sussex and as it is clearly dated 1939, could well relate to a Battle of Britain incident. It carries various acceptance and waffenampt stamps. This item is for sale in as recovered condition and the breach is jammed, the lock, trigger and hammer are all seized with distortion due to the crash and fire. Despite this it makes a fine souvenir and would undoubtedly have a story to tell if it could talk. A Recent Sale
