It is fully stamped and dated 14.12.39 and while we do not have any history, it is likely to have been recovered from a crashed wartime Luftwaffe aircraft. 10cm diameter.
1964RAF Cigarette Case named to 928 Balloon Squadron - Click for the bigger pictureSoldRAF Cigarette Case named to 928 Balloon Squadron - Engraved with letter J and embossed RAF Kings Crown Wings to front. The inside lid is engraved "Presented to Flight Lieutenant A. J. Jones R.A.F. from the Officers, N.C.O.'s and Airmen of B Flight 928 Balloon Squadron Royal Air Force May 1940". The EPNS case measures 12cm x 8cm. P/O A. J. Jones was posted to 928 Barrage Balloon Squadron 11.04.39 and on 24th Nov. the Squadron moved from Bristol to RAF Felixstowe, Suffolk.

1921Propeller Section - Click for the bigger pictureSoldPropeller Section - A section of Propeller measuring 27cm x 14cm cut from a laminated mahogany blade with applied transfer named to the Integral Propeller Company Ltd. and made specially for the Aircraft Company Ltd. British Made. Aircraft type unknown but probably dates from WWI or 1920's.

Inscribed on base "George Hale Royal Naval Air Service August 1917 - April 1918. Royal Air Force April 1918 - November 1919. Landed in France 4th November 1917. Left France 15th October 1919."
Included with this item is a British War Medal and Ribbon engraved 236616.2.A.M. G. Hale RAF, together with two carved pendants which were found inside the box. An interesting item for further research.
