Unissued Royal Navy Siebe Gorman Divers Knife
A one-off opportunity to acquire a near mint and unissued ex Royal Navy Siebe Gorman divers knife that we understand is the fifth style, which was produced roughly between 1965 through to around the1980s.
It features a straight through tang and a double-edged spear point blade with simple brass quillon. The blade remains greased, thus endorsing the fact it has never been issued and for the sake of authenticity we have not attempted to remove or clean the blade. The pommel is made from brass and the nut fits tightly onto the black 6 ring "Ebonite" ribbed grip, which like the blade remains in near mint condition.
The knife comes with irrefutable provenance, being obtained directly from its owner, who acquired it whilst serving in Hong Kong in the early 1980's. Today, nearly half a century later, it remains in the same time warp condition, with the blade protected by the original factory packing, made up of orange plastic mesh that in turn is covered by some sort of oiled synthetic fabric. The blade measures 7.75" long (19.5 cm) whilst the knife, including the handle measures 13.25" (33.5 cm). This example clearly matches the collector's maxim "Always buy the best example you can afford". The sale is for the knife alone and does not include a sheath.
Please note, inline with UK law, we are forbidden to sell any knife to anyone under the age of 18 and we will require firm evidence from the buyer of this item in advance of order placement.
